Herb Roasted Potatoes

Herb Roasted Potatoes
 
Tender grill roasted potatoes with fine herbs add the little zip to your bbq’d meal. This simple potatoe side dish will never disappoint even the most skeptical eater in the family.  Have the potatoes that everyone raves about. Simply use an oven foil bag or square of foil and put these on the bbq before you grill the meat. Perfect tender baked potatoes with fresh herbs and the onions add a crisp crunch or use bacon bits.
 
Herb Roasted PotatoesINGREDIENTS:
2 pounds red potatoes, cut into wedges 
1 1/3 cups crisp french fries, French’s Original
¼ cup minced parsley
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp thyme
½ tsp italian dry herb mix
2 tblsp olive oil
1 tsp season salt
¼ tsp pepper
1 ice cube  
1 large foil pack or foil oven roasting bag
 
 
DIRECTIONS: 
1. In large bowl mix all the ingredients and mix well to coat potatoes   
2. Open foil bag or spread out foil and spread potatoes evenly over or in bag
3. Yes put the ice cube in, it is for moisture.
4. Seal the bag or foil with tight double folds
5. Place bag or foil on large cookie baking sheet
6. Place bag and sheet on a medium high grill, put grill lid down, and cook 15 minutes
7. Turn bag over place back on grill for 10 to 15 minutes until potatoes are tender to touch
8. Remove from grill and carefully open packet. Sprinkle with additional Onions if wish.
  
NOTES:
Can also bake in the oven same directions except temperature is 400 – 450 degrees.
 
 
ADDITIONAL: 
If you do not like French’s Fried Onions, Deep fry your own onions dipped in flour and fry until crisp. Or fry some bacon until crisp, crumble bacon and use this as the crunch.
